Campbell Lake, situated in Anchorage, AK, is a paradise for outdoor enthusiasts with its hiking trails, fishing spots, and boating activities. As an Airbnb host, my client wanted a logo that would showcase the fun adventures and the unique location of her rental. The logo had to appeal to families going on vacation and exploring the wilderness, as well as solo travelers seeking a comfortable stay with a stunning view.

DESIGN DETAILS

In order to create a logo that captures the adventurous spirit of this unique Airbnb location, I designed a badge-style logo that can be easily scaled to different sizes and used throughout the rental property, from small custom mugs to large wall decorations. Drawing inspiration from a photo provided by the client, I created a custom illustrated mountain range that is unique to the location. To showcase the property's activities, I added a silhouette of a man boating, lending a sense of calm and relaxation to the logo. I also incorporated a small silhouette of the state of Alaska to emphasize the location. For the typography, I selected a clean, modern sans-serif font for the smaller text, and a chunky, retro camping-inspired font for the property's name, creating a perfect blend of modern and classic design elements.

APPLYING THE BRAND

To maximize the potential of the custom logo, I provided the client with various logo variations including a word-mark, individual elements of the illustration such as the mountain range and person boating, and the logo in black and white variations for practical use in various applications. In addition, I suggested incorporating subtle brand elements throughout the rental to elevate the space's overall look and feel, and provided inspiration for the client such as business cards and stationery to consider when implementing the branding. By doing so, the client could ensure a cohesive brand experience for their guests and establish a more professional and memorable presence.
